I ran an SQL command in my database to rename a taxonomy but of course it didn’t work and resulted in the taxonomy keeping its old name and losing all my terms.

I read in another topic (below) about checking the ‘migrate’ option to move the terms to the newly renamed taxonomy and wondered if this was the same thing.

Also would you know if my ACF taxonomy fields will retain their selections after renaming?

The taxonomy was originally created with ACF if it affects anything.

Most specifically
```
$query = "UPDATE {$wpdb->term_taxonomy} SET taxonomy = %s WHERE taxonomy = %s AND term_id IN ( {$term_ids} )";
```
We essentially just update the taxonomy column to the new taxonomy slug value. I curious if your database has the terms still, just “disconnected” at the moment. Unsure off the top of my head regarding ACF. Associations are probably going to be more dependent on the term data saved than the taxonomy slug, but all are important overall for querying.
