Hi Mark,
The user can edit their listing at any time. The renewal link is specifically designed to get the user through a single workflow–renewing payment and choosing the appropriate fee plan. We don’t route them through editing the listing right now, but we can consider adding that for the future.
So do I need to also include a link to their listing first and then from there they can submit changes which will also go to the payment process?
Yes–but the renew link and the edit link are going to be different. You don’t want to take out the renew link.
You can customize the email that we send out and there are a lot of options for what you can include. Look for the “Listing Renewal e-mail message” and then click to edit it. A bunch of field codes will show at the bottom that you can use. I’d suggest making changes and then testing the results to make sure you are getting what you’re looking for.
Yes, do believe I ‘have it’ and have left the [link] shortcode. I simply put in a blurb to inform that the owner can go to a manage my listing page to make edits, corrections, etc.
