Hello @hirschferkel!
The backend order of the images in the gallery itself is set differently from the front-end and is not based on the “Sort by” setting you choose.
Please rest assured, however, that “Sort By” setting you choose takes precedence over backend order when displaying the page on the front-end.
Could you let us know which sorting option you’ve selected that isn’t being reflected on the front-end? That will help us understand what might be going wrong.
In the meantime, I’d also recommend checking out our guide on sorting gallery images – you can find it here.
And if possible, please share the front-end link to the page where the gallery is embedded. That would be very helpful for further troubleshooting.
Looking forward to your reply!

Thanks for your answer.
I understood that sorting was only related to the view. Actually there is the possibility to resort an individual gallery to specific needs, but has to manipulate numbers of the images manually.
I was searching for an option, to kind of move the images to a specially place an re-order them instead of having to enter numbers manually. This is quite laborious, when you deal with different galleries and more than a hundred images.
But thanx for you help, I understood how it works, now.

I guess I suffered the same issue, as it was only possible for me to choose e.g. “titel” as a way to sort it and than you get the option to change the numbers manually. This worked out, but not by drag & drop it to the position I liked.

Hi @hirschferkel !
Just tested and the drag-and-drop should work: https://www.loom.com/share/5ddb519d1e764a5eb02e5834d710db15
Could you please make sure that the sorting option is set to “Default sorting”, so that it is not overridden by a different sorting mode? You can use my recording for your reference
