# Replace an image in WordPress

 * Hi,
 * I want to replace an image in WordPress. But I don’t want to install a plugin
   just for this purpose.
 * So, what I do is “Permanetly delete” an image, then reupload the new image with
   the same file name.
 * However, in this way, the post where the image is inserted will still show the
   old image. Why?

 * But, without a plugin… Almost all tutorials and documentation I find online talks

 * Yes, I also encounter the same situation. I search online and all articles suggest
   a plugin.
