 * A client has a Drupal site and would like to completely replace it with a WordPress
site. I do not need to migrate the content from Drupal to WordPress. The prospect
is a little daunting to me, so I would appreciate any input I can get about the
process. My primary concerns are to have the ability to restore the old site
if necessary, and to minimize downtime/disruption for the site. At this point
   I plan to:
 * 1. Backup the current Drupal site to Home so I can restore if necessary.
    2.
Delete the Drupal files. 3. Manually install WordPress. 4. Import the WordPress
site that I have built on a different server.
 * Does that sound like it will work, or am I missing other critical steps? Thanks
   in advance for your help!

 * If I were you I would do the following.
 * 1. Backup the Drupal website
    2. Create a WordPress website locally or on a subdomain
   3. Develop the WordPress website and get it running 4. Once you have the WordPress
website ready to go live, delete the Drupal site 5. Then transfer the WordPress
website over to the live site
 * That is what I personally would do if I were in your situation.

 * Thanks Matthew. Do you know of any Drupal files (beside the database) that my
not be located in the root folder? I am unfamiliar with Drupal, but I hope that
I can remove those files from the root and then upload the new WordPress files
in their place. I just want to be certain I have removed all of the Drupal files,
wherever they are located, to ensure there are no conflicts with the new WordPress
   site.

 * I am not really familiar with Drupal. Sorry. Although I would guess that there
would be other files besides that of which are in the database.
