# Replace external image URL

 * I have pasted in old pages content into empty new pages on a fresh wp-installation.
   So all these images now need to be moved to the new installation.
 * Could one trick be to use your plugin in order to change the image URLs from 
   external to internal? – so the upload media path changes point internally to 
   the new installation?

 * I don’t really understand your current situation, but I think our plugin might
   not be for you. Our plugin is used to replace **images**. The original must be
   present on the server. If you just need to replace URLs, you would be better 
   off using [https://wordpress.org/plugins/better-search-replace/](https://wordpress.org/plugins/better-search-replace/)

    Some images are still linked to the old wp-installation, so it’s the same
   name and folder structure but another server to those images.
 * Yes your plugin advice could be the trick!
