# Replace http with https issue

 * Hello, I try to use your Find and Replace utility and replace http by https.
 * BUT all https where replaced with httpss !!! So I must now replace all httpss
   by https again !
 * Is there an issue, please ? Or do I need to specify my text to be replaced with
   quotes like that “http” and “https” or simple quote ‘ ? Tell me please ..

   be happy to assist.
 * If you searched for the keyword `http` only, it would also match links that already
   use `https`, which can lead to the extra “s” being added.
 * If you have a backup from before the find and replace operation, please restore
   that first. Otherwise, you can search for `httpss` and replace it back with `
   https` to fix the affected links.
 * For the next find and replace, please use `http:` as the search term and `https:`
   as the replacement. That way, only plain HTTP links are updated, and existing
   HTTPS links are skipped. Please be sure to create another backup first to be 
   safe.
 * No need to use quotes in the Find or Replace fields. Just be sure to include 
   the colon to make it an exact match.
