 * I have a site built in muse, currently live. I would like to convert it to wordpress,
   and use the plugin MWuse – Adobe Muse Converter.
 * In order to do any of this, I have to install wordpress for the domain, but when
   I try to use the install tool through hostgator, it fails because the site is
   live.
 * What is the correct way to transition from Muse to WordPress on the same domain?

   I use WP-Staging, but even that requires having a wordpress install for both
   staging and actual domains.
 * Please advise. Thanks!
 * The page I need help with: _[[log in](https://login.wordpress.org/?redirect_to=https%3A%2F%2Fwordpress.org%2Fsupport%2Ftopic%2Freplacing-muse-with-wordpress%2F%3Foutput_format%3Dmd&locale=en_US)

 * Try installing on a subdomain instead, like `new.motorcityfilms.com` (consult
   your hosting provider’s documentation for creating subdomains).
 * You can build the site there, while the old site remains live at `motorcityfilms.
   com`
 * Then, when you’re ready, move the new site over following this guide: [https://codex.wordpress.org/Moving_WordPress#Moving_Directories_On_Your_Existing_Server](https://codex.wordpress.org/Moving_WordPress#Moving_Directories_On_Your_Existing_Server)

 * Here’s the issue I’m having:
 * I know how to use a subdomain and build the new site there. But, I have a membership
   to WP-Staging, which lets me push changes from a staging site to a live site (
   to avoid the hassle of moving directories myself). The problem with that is in
   order to use the plugin, I need it installed on both the staging and live sites(
   through wordpress).
 * So…I guess I’m still wondering how to install wordpress for the live site domain?

 * Check with WP-Staging, but you should be able to still move everything after
   the fact once the site launches.
