# Replies Setting – For users

 * I installed this plugin, but I just want to make sure of the correct setting(
   s) based on what I want to happen on the site.
 * 1. Admin gets automatically notified when a new topic and reply is posted by
   anyone.
    2. The user gets notified that “their own” topic got replied to.
 * I want the person who created a topic to get a notification that the admin or
   someone replied to their own topic only.
 * In the past, every user/member on a site I had was getting notifications when
   anyone created topics and replies. I had a lot of angry people complaining they
   were getting notifications related to others (everyone and everything).
 * Thanks in advance!

 * Hi [@roughpixels](https://wordpress.org/support/users/roughpixels/),
 * > 1. Admin gets automatically notified when a new topic and reply is posted by
   > anyone.
 * Add Administrator role to both Topics and Replies tabs.
 * > 2. The user gets notified that “their own” topic got replied to.
 * For that you’ll need to do the following:
    1. Enable Override Subscriptions to Forums and to Topics in the Topics and Replies
       tabs, respectively;
    2. Enable the Authors notifications checkbox on both Topics and Replies tabs;
    3. Install bbp-toolkit plugin and turn on the auto-subscribe setting.
 * bbpnns does not come with an auto-subscribe for authors, although it’s becoming
   more obvious that it probably should. But while it doesn’t, the steps above will
   help you achieve your requirements.
 * Cheers,
    Vinny

 * Thanks for the fast reply!
 * I wasn’t really wanting to put in the bbToolkit, especially because it’s 2 years
   since last updated. But for now, I reinstalled it and checked the box next to“
   _Auto tick the Notify me of follow-up replies via email (so activate the subscription
   to every topic you reply to)_“. Hopefully, that is the one you are referring
   to?
 * There are many things bbPress should be doing, but they never seem to accept
   repeated recommendations over the years. It would also be nice to have an option
   to have all admin notifications to go an email that you could enter into an option
   setting.
