# Reply link missing path

 * At my development site where I work on new themes, I’m having trouble with the‘
   Leave your comment’ link that is on each blog entry.

 * When you mouse over the link you’ll see:

 * Why is the full path missing? I’ve tried other themes and they work fine. So,
   I know it’s my themes that aren’t functioning correctly. Before the upgrade to
   2.3 I was certain that these were working as expected.
 * Any ideas?

 * `<a href="<?php the_permalink() ?>#respond">Leave a comment</a>`
 * Then it should jump correctly to your comment-form.

 * Thanks! That appears to have fixed the problem. However, do you know why I had
   to do it that way? In many of the themes that I’ve downloaded, I see that specifying
   the permalink wasn’t necessary.
