you don’t need a plugin
dashboard – settings – reading
check that users must be logged in
then it doesn’t matter if someone can guess

It seems that the latest version of WP does not have such feature but I found something alike: “Users must be registered and logged in to comment” which does not solve my problem since I still want visitors to comment without register.
I was looking for a plugin/hack that can help to require the registered users to log in before they make any comments.
which do you want?
must log in
or do not have to log in

Sorry for the mess. What I want is:
for visitors: if they use the same data as the registered users, then they have to log in before making any comments. It helps to verify whether the visitor is the user himself, if not, the visitor will not be able to comment using that specific data. And this prevents a comment visitor from using a registered user’s data if his is not the user.
for registered users: like the above if he hasn’t logged in.
Maybe it’s my inability to comprehend what you’re saying but wow, you totally lost me.
Either check the box Samuel B mentioned or don’t. If whatever you’re describing is too complicated for me to get through a first glance, I’m guessing your users would be lost trying to do this for real.

Greeting all,
I was looking for a plugin/hack that can help to require the registered users to log in before they make any comments. The basic idea is that visitors who use the same username and email address (if he/she guess it right) can make comments and pretend to be the registered user. I found a solution to this issue while ago which requires the visitor to log in before he/she makes any comments if the username and email address is exactly the same as the registered user. But I somehow forgot what the website address of the solution is. Any help please? Thank you!
