REST Api

hi,
I tried the free version of Maintenance Mode by SeedProd and as it works pretty well for the page itself, it also shuts the REST api down. So as I request /wp-json it does not serve content anymore but asks for authentication, which is not the case without maintainance mode.

Now, is there a change (including the PRO version) to enable REST while in mainainance mode?
