You need to make sure you have “auto rotate” set in the Rotate settings metabox. If that is not activated then the ticker will just set there unless the user clicks one of the ticker navigational buttons (which you also need to activate in the rotate settings).
Also, please adjust your rating if this is the cause of your issue.. I assure you the rotate mode works.

Thanks for responding. I should have mentioned I do have the auto rotate set properly. I will adjust the rating in any case.
To be clear, auto rotate was checked on and I have this issue of it not working.
