# RSS bug due to SQL Database?

 * RSS readers (Google Reader, Feed Burner, etc.) cannot find an RSS feed at my
   blog ([http://microclesia.com](http://microclesia.com)).
 * I’ve replaced the custom theme with 100% generic Kubrick. No help.
 * I’ve asked my host (ehost.com) if they were the issue. They were of no help.
 * I upgraded to Ella 2.1. No help.
 * The only possible problems remaining are the database and the hosting account,
   no? Perhaps there is something screwy in the SQL database header area – this
   is what feedvalidator.org seems to indicate.
 * Can anyone tell me what’s wrong? Is there a sample of a “known good” WordPress
   SQL database I can view? Here’s what feedvalidator says:
 * …
 * This feed does not validate.
 * * line 2, column 0: XML parsing error: <unknown>:2:0: xml declaration not at
   start of external entity
 *  <?xml version=”1.0″ encoding=”UTF-8″?>
 * In addition, this feed has an issue that may cause problems for some users. We
   recommend fixing this issue.
 * * Feeds should not be served with the “text/html; charset=UTF-8” media type

 * I have the exact same problem with HappinessBlog.com – Brand new download and
   install of Kubrick Special, very vanilla, nothing kinky. No Plug-Ins.
 * Could something in my content be causing the problem? It was imported from Blogger
   to WordPress.com and then to a new WordPress space on 1and1
 * Another forum posting said code was being mistakenly added to the feed…

 * Is this happening to me? I’m new to WordPress, I’m not a programmer, please advise!

 * I had a similar problem and I found that my web host had added extra code to
   my htaccess to limit requests because my blog was using too much energy on the
   server. I deleted the htaccess (I backed it up first in case) and then regenerated
   permalinks and then my RSS feed was visible.
 * One other thing that may help is make sure all your plugins have no extra lines
   after the final line of code. You need to open each php file for each plugin (
   should only take 10-20 minutes) and look at the bottom of each file and see if
   there are extra lines after the last line of code. If there is extra lines, delete
   them. This is a well-documented problem from the past that causes RSS feeds not
   to be shown.
 * Hope that helps–let me know.
