We currently have a careers page on our local intranet which looks to an rss feed from our external site. When HR update the external site, the idea would be that it updates the internal intranet.

When adding new items, they replicate over just fine. But when old ones are removed from the external site, they stay active on the internal.

Is there any way to force it to match the external feed? When i set the ‘Delete feed items older than’ option to anything other than never it removes items before they are removed from the external site.

  • Hi @qualasept!

Feed items are only imported in once, so this would not update any older previously imported feed item, whether that purpose is to remove it or update the content on subsequent fetches.

You would need to delete the feed item from the RSS Feed Source URL, then delete all feed items in the local intranet site, and then finally reimport to get the latest version of the feed.

    Hope that makes sense.

    hi @renzms

Is there no way of automating this process? The items are removed from the RSS Feed Source manually, would be great if it would just automatically update based on what is in the source.

You could try setting up a Cron job for it, or schedule the fetching of posts as in here
