    I quickly coded for the resume part of my weblob a newsfeed reader based

 * Pretty cool.
    I would like something like this as something I could drop in the
   sidebar. I would like the option of displaying the dropdown box and links from
   a pre-defined feed. If you change the dropdown, the page would reload with the
   new feed. The thing about magpie is that it’s a bunch of php files. If you put
   them all in the plugins directory, WP displayes them in the plugins list! You
   would need to put them in a subdirectory. Then you could build a plugin with 
   a couple of functions that could be used in the index.php to insert a feed and/
   or dropdown. Just a thought.

 * ringmaster, try out my [CG-Feedread Plugin](http://www.chait.net/index.php?p=85).
   It’s getting a lot of testing these past few weeks now, works inline in the page
   or for sidebar, and is based on a small/fast parsing system with caching of page
   data and output with timed refreshes of the cache. And always open to expanding
   the features to meet the needs of users! 😉

 * No problem. I actually just updated it, and then my ISP freaking hosed on me 
   again. Should be back up in the next hour, fixes a few issues with ‘weird’ feeds.

 * Okay, after 3.5h of downtime, CHAITGEAR is back up and running. Definitely grab
   the latest version of [CG-Feedread](http://www.chait.net/index.php?p=85), as 
   it has some new ‘cleaning’ features that scrub bad characters (curly quotes, 
   etc.) from feeds for use in link titles, etc. Also fixed a number of issues with
   blank post titles or missing site title/description last night.
