# RSS Widget Error

 * Hi all,
 * I’m trying to use the built in RSS Widget to pull the 5 most recent listings 
   from an auction/shop that I have.
 * When I move to the widget into the sidebar that I want to use it in and input
   the feed URL – I get a page full of this:
 * “Deprecated: Assigning the return value of new by reference is deprecated in 
   C:\Server\xampp\htdocs\wp-includes\class-simplepie.php on line 738”
 * I’m doing this on my local installation before I upload the code to the live 
   site. I did do it before and it worked fine. I haven’t updated anything since
   then so I don’t understand why it isn’t working now.
 * The above error appears about 100 times each with a different “line” number.
 * Could somebody please point me in the direction of fixing this please?

 * Have you tried:
 * – deactivating **all** plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works,
   re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).
 * – switching to the Twenty Ten theme to rule out any theme-specific problems?
