# safely saving template

 * Was going to save something I created as a template and came to what I remembered
   doing wrongly destroyed my site and I had to rebuild much even after a backup.
   I came to saving under what ‘conditions’. I got to save as page, but the choice
   was ‘all’ and underneath a box which I didn’t know what to do with. I backed 
   out and saw exclude would be from entire site, and probably the right choice,
   but taking no chances, backed out and didn’t update. Excluding site, would be
   safe, I suppose? And if I wanted to just save to 0 or as the present page, what
   would I do?

 * Terms such as _template conditions_ or _exclude from entire site_ are **not part
   of the WordPress core**, so I assume you are using a plugin.
 * What plugin are you using to generate/edit those templates you are asking about?
   Are you using by any change Elementor plugin? If so, I recommend asking at
 * [https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/elementor/](https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/elementor/)
 * so the plugin’s developers and support community can help you with this. People
   reading your topic here are less likely to be familiarized with a specific plugin
   and can’t help you. The plugin support page is the best place to ask about your
   problem.

 * No one on that forum was responding, so I went to Elementor ‘Pro’ support. I 
   may get a reply in 2-5 days, based on previous help requests.
