# Salient Theme Issues

 * Recently updated to Salient 8.1.0 and had it break a lot of the css from the 
   site’s previous version of Salient. The Events plug-in is not grayed out and 
   there is something in the main Salient Theme CSS that is causing a conflict, 
   but I am not sure what. I got as far as determining it was their main style sheet
   by troubleshooting and when removing that sheet from the header the calendar 
   would become visible again, but also breaking the rest of the styling.
 * I’m looking for what is the culprit in this sheet:

 * It looks like the problem is with the theme “nectar” slider. From the page you
   linked, the slider isn’t completing loading – page inspector shows this CSS:
 *     ```
       .nectar-slider-loading {
           background-color: #393939;.......}
       ```
   
 * If I disable the dark background, I see the other page content — including event
   calendar, but then there is a big blank space where the slider was supposed to
   be.
 * So I’d suggest that you start by checking your theme settings for the slider.
   It’s possible that you lost some of your custom settings with the update.

 * Thank you [@abigailm](https://wordpress.org/support/users/abigailm/) ! I did 
   some digging and found that there was some code in the events calendar plugin
   settings that I honestly don’t know why it was even there. You helped clue me
   in on where to look with your advice. I truly appreciate it. Everything appears
   to be back to normal.
