# Same custom designed header across multiple wordpress sites

 * Hi everyone,
 * I am putting together a site at [http://www.myringminder.com](http://www.myringminder.com).
   I created a child theme for the thematic framwork to create this site. The child
   theme includes style.css, header.php, footer.php, and functions.php.
 * The problem that I am having is that I would like to have the same header (everything
   above the gray line) and footer (the green box at the bottom) for other WordPress
   sites I am creating that don’t use thematic. Is there an easy way to substitute
   any theme’s header and menu with the custom one that I created? Is trying to 
   just adapt my child theme to each new parent theme the best way to do it, or 
   is there a universal approach?

 * For universal purpose, make a plugin instead edit theme files. Pretty hard to
   do but it is possible.

 * Thank you for the suggestion blacklizt. I’m fairly new to WordPress, and while
   it’s better than straight up html, it definitely has some quirks to it.
