# Sanitize string �tegory%

 * I want to add a global variables on post/page variables:
 * Name: category
    Value: %category%
 * Since this field uses the function sanitize_text_field(); it strips out the “%
   ca” leaving the string “tegory%”.
 * So I see no way to add categories to the datalayer.

 * Sorry for the delay, there was no way for me to view this support request because
   it had an % in the URL.
 * I filed a GitHub issue for this: [https://github.com/ronalfy/metronet-tag-manager/issues/2](https://github.com/ronalfy/metronet-tag-manager/issues/2)
 * I’ll try to fix it this weekend.
 * In the meantime, maybe use `post_category` instead.
