Once the plugin is activated I see this message

First of all, you need to save your settings for ReOrder Posts in Categories.

If I click on that then I get the following:-

Sorry, you are not allowed to access this page.

I have full access to my webserver so I’m rather puzzled by this. At the moment, the plugin is deactivated.

yes, that’s a bit odd. Are you able to access the settings page from the Settings->Re-order Posts menu in the Dashboard?

Yes I able to access the settings page of the plugin. It is when I try to save the settings that is when I see the error.

The link presented in the notices when you first install the plugin is indeed faulty. I am finxing this in the next release 2.7.0.

It is when I try to save the settings that is when I see the error.

are you saying that you are unable to save your settings once you have modified them? This is working fine for me, so it isn’t for you, you need to check your setup to see if you have any errors being reported on the server side.

Thanks. I’ll take a look at the server side logs later today.
I did try the change settings and save option but it presented the same error. What is the correct URL? Can I put it into the browser to do the operation?

the correct URL is the one you have in Settings->Re-order Posts dashboard menu.

    /wp-admin/options-general.php?page=class-reorder-post-within-categories-admin.php
