Scan not starting

    Hello,

    I have two sites on which I’ve installed WF: on the first one it run beautifully, on the second one the scan simply doesn’t start (i.e. it displays “Requesting a new scan /” for a second and then it reverts back to “Start a Wordfence scan”).

    I run WP 3.5 on both sites, with plugin version 3.5.1
    I don’t have any Javascript errors (admin-ajax requests are OK)

    I don’t see any major difference between the two sites other than one is hosted on the root of my shared account and the other in a directory…

    Any hint?

    Oh, and I have no errors on my server log.

    Hi Matteo,

    Do both sites use the same hostname? If you have an .htaccess blocking access to /wp-admin/ this can be the cause. Wordfence must be able to connect to the ajax handler in the wp-admin directory.

    Thanks for your reply Mark, I followed the advice on your site and I ended up blocking my site with a password on every page… I must have done something wrong…

    This is the .htaccess I have on the website where WF is not working:
