# Schema “description”

 * Hi. When I look into the code of our customer’s WP page I can see that now (since
   an update?) the whole text of an article shows up in the schema graph as “description”.
   Before it only was an excerpt (I can see in the code of older posts). Why that?
   We translate the page with an automated translation plugin and as this plugin
   also translates header texts, each new post now is translated double (schema 
   graph and post itself). So we now need double quota for the translation. Our 
   customer does not use meta descriptions due to the very large amount of posts.
   Why does the schema graph input does not fall back to the auto-generated meta
   description? Kind regards

   Arts von Monte-Carlo ist ein Musikfestival, das 1970 auf Initiative von Fürstin
   Gracia Patricia von Monaco gegründet wurde und jedes Jahr im Frühling an 4 bis
   5 Wochenenden stattfindet. Er steht seit 1984 unter der Schirmherrschaft ihrer
   Tochter Caroline, die die Leitung 2003 dem Komponisten Marc Monnet anvertraute,
   sich aber weiterhin an seiner Entwicklung beteiligt.\r\nDieses der Kreation zugewandte
   Festival macht das Fürstentum bei Ankunft des Frühlings zu einem Wallfahrtsort
   für all diejenigen, die Kunst und Musik vereinen. Der ausgeprägte Geschmack für
   die Vielfalt der künstlerischen Ausdrucksformen (Musik vom 11. bis 21. Jahrhundert,
   Sinfonien, Opern, Recitals, Performances, Tanz …) und das Festhalten an einer
   Qualitätsanforderung, durch die der Öffentlichkeit die größten Künstler der Zeit
   präsentiert werden, bilden die beiden Eckpfeiler dieses Festivals. Das stets 
   prestigeträchtige künstlerische Programm dieses großen Events der Côte d’Azur
   legt auch Wert auf die Entdeckung und Förderung junger Talente.\r\n\r\n[caption

   as I used it to set up the plugin on my test site. I could replicate the issue
   where the description in the structured data is pulling all the contents in the
   post.
 * The _Event Post_ plugin is responsible for the `Event` schema you see in our 
   structured data output. Checking the plugin, I don’t see a dedicated field for
   the event description. This makes the contents of the post be pulled into the`
   Event` schema as a description. If you temporarily deactivate the plugin and 
   check again, the description in our structured data output is what you entered
   as the meta description.
 * I recommend reaching out to the _Event Post _plugin developer about fixing the
   description being pulled into the `Event` schema.
