• Never removes old backups, just constantly sends you emails telling you that you need to buy more space. when you try to delete old backup files, which is supposed to be automatic, you have to do each file individually. You cannot select all those you want to delete, then delete them. You have to do each one separately, and it takes ages.
It constantly leaves large backup files on your local server so you have to delete those manually too.
When you cancel future payment authorisation, for the extra space that you have been nagged in to purchasing, that action automatically ejects you from the storage rights you have already paid for. I paid for 12 months in October and cancelled the subscription in February. That action got my extra storage cancelled on the spot and I had to ask for a refund.

If it worked, it may be useful, but as it stands, it is just very frustrating with all of its flaws. There is an awful arrogance about responses from support, too. Not nice people at all.

    Hi @arbiter213,

“Never removes old backups, just constantly sends you emails telling you that you need to buy more space.”
    > We need to find out what is causing the issue. You can send us a support request using this form. We’d be more than happy to help and explain what is causing the issue.

“when you try to delete old backup files, which is supposed to be automatic, you have to do each file individually. You cannot select all those you want to delete, then delete them. You have to do each one separately, and it takes ages.”
    > I’m afraid this is not true. You should be able to select and delete multiple files by ticking the checkbox in the the “Backup/Restore” tab. You can also delete the files directly from the FTP/cPanel if the files are on your local server.

“It constantly leaves large backup files on your local server so you have to delete those manually too.”
    > From your description, it seems to me that the backups is only having issues sending the files to your remote storage. You need to make sure you have more than enough space on your remote storage. Note that, ‘automatic backup before update’ backups are not included in the retention rule – that is why you need to have extra space.

    > I’m afraid that our system automatically cancels your storage if you cancel the subscription for UpdraftVault. This is only for the Vault storage though.

    > Our apologies if you have a bad experience with our support. We would still be very willing to help you out with any issues you experience if you submit a request through our customer support form.

    Best Wishes,
    Bryle
