 * Hi,
 * Is there any way to allow screen readers to announce an aria-label set for each
   marker on a map? Currently the screenreader says nothing for each map marker
   you navigate onto and so this is failing accessibility, which with the new European
   Accessibility Act coming into operation from June this year might be an issue.
 * Thanks.

 * I’ve been thinking about this all the time: How do you make a map application
   accessible?
   The software is [Leafletjs](https://leafletjs.com). There are these
   [options for markers](https://leafletjs.com/reference.html#marker), which Bozdoz
   has [implemented](https://github.com/bozdoz/wp-plugin-leaflet-map?tab=readme-ov-file#leaflet-marker-options).
   Maybe you can use the `alt` option.

 * Thanks for replying. Adding the title now makes the screenreader announce the
   text.
 * However, there is another accessibility issue. For each of my markers, I have
   a pop-up within which is the name of the location and then a link to its page
   on the website. When you keyboard navigate onto a marker, you can press the return
   key which displays the pop-up but there is no way to then navigate into the pop-
   up to get to the URL. Again, would be good if this was possible.

 * I’m sorry, I have no idea. Has the link in the popup an aria-label?

 * Yes I’ve tried aria-labels but there is no way to navigate into the pop-up using
   the keyboard.
 * I just tried other browsers and I can navigate in on Firefox but not any other.
