    Hello,
I am facing the following problem: The day before yesterday, I installed a staging plugin that stores the staging data in a subfolder of my site (https://xyz.de/staging). Broken Link Checker searches there diligently and reliably and found 201 broken links there yesterday and 827 today. These seem to refer exclusively to the new subfolder of the sandbox. So my question is: How can I exclude this subdirectory from the search? I use Broken Link Checker in the local version (not cloud).
    Many thanks and best regards
    Matta

    H @matta-cib,

I’m checking with our team regarding the expected workflow in such instances.

Could you please try adding the “staging” under Link Checker > Local > Which Links to Check > Exclusion list and see if that helps?

    Regards,

    Nithin

    Hello Nithin,

    thanks for your answer.

I entered my subdirectory ‘staging’ in the specified location – tomorrow morning I will see if this is accepted.

In this context, I have another question: The notification I received today about 827 broken links came by email. In the email, a URL containing the word ‘staging’ is always displayed under “source” and ‘view’.
In the backend, however, Broken Link Checker only reports 7 broken links, but 907 forwardings. However, I could not find any reference to staging in these forwardings; based on the URLs provided, they seem to refer to the production site.
The question now is how to get rid of these forwardings. Would the bulk action ‘Reject/dismiss’ (third option from the bottom under ‘Multiple actions’) be correct?
    Thank you and kind regards,
    Matta

    Hello Nithin,
Unfortunately, adding the stop word ‘staging’ (to exclude the subdirectory in question) did not work: According to the received email from Broken Link Checker this morning, there are 537 broken links, all with ‘/staging/’ in the URL.
In the backend, however, only 7 broken links are still displayed, but the number of forwardings has climbed from 907 to 991.
    Thank you and best regards,
    Matta

You can select the link and use the fix redirect in bulk action menu.

If adding the staging keyword wasn’t helpful could you please go to BLC -> settings -> advanced and Forced recheck links?

    Best Regards

    Hello Amin,

Thank you for your advice, which I followed and ran ‘Forced recheck links’.
After a good 24 hours, BLC has checked all 7,391 unique URLs and appears to have taken the stop word ‘staging’ into account. BLC seems to have performed a separate scan for the staging site, as I suspect from the email I received, and this would then probably be visible in the backend of the staging site (unfortunately, I can’t access it at the moment…).
In any case, there appear to be no errors regarding the staging directory on the production site, so everything is fine and thank you again.
    Best regards,
    Matta
