What BuddyPress components do you have active?
I noticed the Activity Streams component removed both for me. However, I wasn’t able to find a setting that hid only one of them.
Following BuddyPress components are active on my website:
- Extended Profiles
- Account Settings
- Notifications
- User Groups
From the looks of things, that metabox is only going to show up if the Activity component is active, which says to me it was originally designed to a bit central to activity as well. However, I also was not part of the original decisions either. You can see what adds it at the bottom of the bp-activity.php file, which is loaded only if Activity is enabled.
I activated the Activity BuddyPress component: I can see now a total of three checkboxes on the Achievement Type edit page. This also solved the other problem; the 404 errors.
Maybe it is not typical to deactivate the Activity component on BuddyPress, but the option is there. I wasn’t aware of the required “BadgeOS Community Add On” dependency on the BuddyPress Activity component. This would be a good addition to the plugin installation documentation.
