• I am putting together a personal page. I am going to show some of my artwork that anyone can visit. I want to have a page where invited family can go look at and download archived family photos. I do not want to get bogged down in passwords, etc. I would just like to tell them the URL and when they click the Family Photos button, they are prompted to type in the secret word. This is probably a slam dunk if one knows HTML and in my searches the results seem like overkill. Any ideas?

  • When you edit the page/post there’s a section for ‘Visibility’. One of the options in there is ‘Password protected’. Set that up and share the password for that page with hte people that you want to allow access to.

@catacaustic that sounds easy enough. What if someone tries to go directly to the page via the URL? I guess I can test that. Thanks!

If someone goes directly to the pags URL then they’ll see the message to enter the password before they are shown anything. It’s a good system for what you’re looking for, and built in so there’s no extra plugins needed.
