I cannot modify anything through my cpanel or file manager either.
I’m pretty sure you’ve been hacked.
Get a fresh cup of coffee, take a deep breath and carefully follow this guide. When you’re done, you may want to implement some (if not all) of the recommended security measures.
If you’re unable to clean your site(s) successfully, there are reputable organizations that can clean your sites for you. Sucuri and Wordfence are a couple.

Thanks for the quick response Steve. I had that same thought too but it showed and still shows no malware or any other signs that I have been hacked. I just double checked it.

Trust me, you’ve been hacked. Things are not right with your site. I don’t want to put any details here publicly.

I am receiving the same message as wblair on my site, portland-hypnotherapy.com. Unlike wblair though, I could update plugins. Could you share with me the same fix that worked for wblair? Thank you Steve.

If you can update your website most it’s probably been hacked or has malware on it. I would run a scan on it. If you don’t have one you can download a free plugin that will check your website at
