 * Generally, those crawlers tend to look for signals within your code to identify
   the installed plugins in the front-end of your site. For example, some plugins
   use certain classes and IDs for their elements.
 * It’s just about impossible to completely hide them for this reason. There are
   some plugins like [Hide My WP](https://wordpress.org/plugins/hide-my-wp/) (now
   GhostWP) that can deal with some of these footprints, but not all. I have to 
   see that it’s almost impossible to do this by yourself. You would need to build
   a plugin of your own, for this purpose, so ultimately you will end installing
   a plugin to achieve this.
