 * First of all, the plugin looks great and I would love to use it! But there is
   a security problem. My server doesn’t allow “allow_url_fopen”. It’s also considered
   a security breach if put to 1. I.e. [https://www.a2hosting.com/kb/developer-corner/php/using-php.ini-directives/php-allow-url-fopen-directive](https://www.a2hosting.com/kb/developer-corner/php/using-php.ini-directives/php-allow-url-fopen-directive)
 * This is the output I get:
    `Warning: file_get_contents(): http:// wrapper is
   disabled in the server configuration by allow_url_fopen=0 in /home/user/public_html/
   wp-content/plugins/uptime-robot-monitor/uptime-robot-nh.php on line 293`
 * Could you use a different connection, like CURL?:
    [http://stackoverflow.com/questions/24049534/is-allow-url-fopen-safe](http://stackoverflow.com/questions/24049534/is-allow-url-fopen-safe)
 * I hope you can fix this!
    Thom

 * Hi Thom,
 * Happy to hear you would like to start using the plugin. And what a bad luck you
   provider has set allow_url_open=0. Especially because when you use it the correct
   way there isn’t a security problem at all.
    The reason why some shared hostingproviders
   block this is because there are a lot of beginning developers that don’t know
   how to use it the right way.
 * So don’t worrie about the plugin, it’s safe. Because I’m currently switching
   jobs it’s difficult for me tot completely change the way I connect to the API,
   so maybe you can ask your provider to change the setting (if you can’t do it
   yourself)?
 * As soon as I have some more time I will have a look at it, but can’t promise
   a time periode at this time. Sorry for that.
 * Regards,
    Niels
