# Select using remote database table

 * I attempting to create a select input field on a new form, and I had created 
   the connection to the database correctly as far as I could tell. However, when
   I select the dropdown for the table, I get an empty dropdown with no choices.
   What is the issue?

 * The most probably you have done something incorrectly, that’s why it doesn’t 
   show the options.
 * Please read [this article](https://help.10web.io/hc/en-us/articles/360015862632-Selecting-Options-from-Database)
   and try to recreate the field again.
 * If the problem persists, then, please describe step by step how you set up that
   field. If possible please make a screen video recording and show us.
