Selecting a users player – restriction

Hello,

I currently have the buddypress created specifically for sportspress and wanted to know, when you’re in your settings and can select which player you are from the drop down menu…is there a way I can refrain from allowing EVERYONE access to this? I just don’t want users selecting players they aren’t – just because. I know it sounds dumb but absolutely it’s a possibility.

My idea thinking is that, in the settings be ONLY give users who have the “player” role to be able to see this page/option. If you’re just a general user you do NOT have access to this option. That way, when the league is developed I can individually select users to have access to this if they’re participating.
