Server Location Change
-
Right now my server is in Pittsburgh. Pageview times is pretty healthy for US visitors, about 4-5 seconds first view and 1-2 seconds repeat view for people in the US (from webpagetest.org).
For the visitors in Asia (i.e Singapore) or Australia, the load times are longer, around 12 seconds first and 7 seconds for repeat.
I’ve been thinking of a move to a Las Vegas datacenter, mainly to help with the page load speed on the other side of the pacific.
Any opinions?
I’m running on an entry level dedicated hosting with W3TC and APC cache installed. I’ve also have static files on amazon.com’s CDN. And I’ve also installed Google Libraries and WP-Minify which helps with the page speed a lot.
