Session Expires While Editing Site

    Hi,

    I’m having a weird problem after I login to wp-admin. Once I login, I can edit and do everything fine – except – make changes to the theme.

    I was using a custom theme and had this problem. So, I switched to the twenty-seventeen theme and it’s still the same problem.

    I can get into the theme customization area, but from there if I try to do anything, I suddenly get logged out and it says:

    “Your session has expired. Please log in to continue where you left off.”

    I’m also getting a random message here and there (not always) when I login originally to wp-admin, that says cookies are blocked or not supported by my browser. It then tells me to enable cookies.

    But cookies are enabled and I get this same message with all my browsers. And I obviously have cookies enabled on all of them.

    Any ideas?

    Well, I just figured out the problem, so thought I’d post it here in case anybody else might find it helpful.

    I had a plugin called WP SUPER CACHE. When I disabled it – suddenly everything worked fine! So, in my case, that was the problem.

    (I actually discovered it because I read another post here of somebody having the same problem. It got resolved and the OP wrote back to ask if the person who had fixed it changed something in the cache settings. That person never wrote back, but it prompted me to check my own cache settings)!
