# Setting “automatic linking” off does not work properly

 * Dear Barry
 * When you uncheck (in the general settings) “Checking this will enable automatically
   linking posts to new posts” it does’t change the behavior of the plugin. It does
   still show the related posts at the end of every WP post.
 * Thus, I tried the line <?php add_filter( ‘rp4wp_append_content’, ‘__return_false’);?
   > in the header of my posts but it did not work either. Could you please advice
   on how to switch off the automatic linking? So I can use the shortcode [rp4wp]
   on selected posts only…

 * I apologize for the delay in replying. To disable the automatic display of related
   posts, the code you have used needs to be added to the “functions.php” file located
   inside your active theme folder.
