# Permalinks, Tags, Categories, Templates, and Featured Image Options Missing

 * Hello everyone,
 * I’m encountering an issue where several important options are missing when I 
   open the WordPress editor. Specifically, I can only see the “Excerpt,” “Discussion,”
   and “Summary” options, while the options for permalinks, tags, categories, templates,
   and featured images are not visible.
 * I have already taken the following steps to address this:
    1. Updated WordPress to the latest version.
    2. Deactivated all plugins.
    3. Temporarily switched to a default theme.
 * Despite these efforts, the aforementioned options continue to be absent from 
   the editor. Has anyone else experienced a similar problem or can offer guidance
   on how to restore these missing features? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

 * Since when you have this issue?
 * Did this happen after recent WordPress update?
 * If so, you may try Manually updating. When all else fails, download a fresh copy
   of the WordPress (top right on this page) to your computer, and use that to copy
   up. Access your server via [SFTP or FTP](https://wordpress.org/support/article/ftp-clients/),
   or a file manager in your hosting account’s control panel (consult your hosting
   provider’s documentation for specifics on these) and delete then replace the 
   wp-admin and wp-includes folders on your server (NOTE: do not delete the **wp-
   content** directory or your **wp-config.php** file). **Read the [Manual Update directions first](https://wordpress.org/support/article/updating-wordpress/)**.
 * **BACKUP: If you haven’t already done, always backup everything (including your
   database) before doing any actions, just in case something really goes wrong.

 * I’m relatively new to WordPress, having started today, so I can’t confirm if 
   this issue occurred after a recent update. However, it’s good to know that this
   may be a potential cause.
 * I appreciate the suggestion of manually updating WordPress. I’ll definitely give
   that a try.
 * As for backups, thanks for the reminder. I’ll make sure to back up everything
   before attempting any actions.

 * I’ve installed the classic editor plugin in the problem seems to be solved !
