 * Is there a guide/documentation or something to explain different settings and
   what they do/impact?
 * Currently my page load time is no better than before activating W3TC, so obviously
   I need to tweak things. I’m hesitant to go poking around changing things without
   understanding the consequences.

 * Hello,
    We do not have that kind of guide but you can find a lot of them online.
   I googled and I found the article which can explain the settings [here](https://themeisle.com/blog/w3-total-cache-settings/).
   I am not suggesting to use the exact settings as that varies depending on your
   needs and the website itself. I suggest that you test your website on GTmetrix
   and usee that info to configure W3 Total Cache. You can always use our Professional
   support. That way we can set up the plugin for you.

 * Before turning to Google I thought it prudent to ask the developers. Thought 
   there may have a link or a tooltip or something I had overlooked.
 * Thank you for the article link. I’m sure I can figure it out. Not stupid, simply
   a little overwhelmed.
