shadowbox-js plugin not working ?

    Hi,
    I’m fairly new to wp so perhaps I’m not seeing the obvious..
    I installed the shadowbox plugin via wp-download/install. Then I click the ‘add image’ tab in a post and upload pictures. I ‘save all changes” and hit the gallery tab. I can see the config options but no preview of the uploaded pix. Then “insert gallery” and upload of pix to server: only links (to a not-existing page) but no pix.
    Then tried with single pix using code example from swivel-usage 1. – the image is there but w/o the shadowbox..
    And finally upload one image and use ‘insert into post’ – no image.
    For this test I used the default wp-theme twenty ten just to make sure it’s not a problem with my custom theme.

    There is a problem with some hosting setups that cause the cached file that this plugin creates to have the wrong file permissions.

    2 Options:

    1) Go to wp-content/uploads/shadowbox-js/ in an ftp application or what have you and delete all files that exist in there
    2) Go to that same directory and change the permissions on the files so that they are world readable

    Unfortunately, neither of the two options worked…
    Well, there was not a single file in the wp-content/uploads/shadowbox-js/ folder to begin with!

    I also went through a deactivate/delete from wp/content/plugins (and wp-content/uploads) folder and new upload and activate cycle – no cigar…
    (I also tried different javascript libraries)

    btw: the wp-content/uploads/shadowbox-js folder at least has the 755 permissions.

    What now?

    You can try to manually install the development version from http://downloads.wp.xz.cn/plugin/shadowbox-js.zip

    After upgrading/activating visit Settings->Shadowbox JS and select to not used a cached shadowbox.js

    Thanks Matt, this seems to work – single pix and galleries do show up now!
