# Shared Server Hostname Change

 * I changed the hostname of my VPS server two days ago and since then several (
   not all it seems) of the wordpress sites running on the server are acting very
   strangely.
 * Sometimes publishing a post deletes a previously published post. Changing the
   text of posts and clicking save draft makes the changes go away, then sometimes
   those changes are back again when you re-enter the draft and sometimes they are
   not.
 * I thought this was a problem on only one domain and I upgraded WP to 4.1 and 
   deactivated plugins, etc. Then I found that several sites had the same problem
   and decided it must have been a change to the server. The only change was the“
   hostname” which I changed in WHM.

 * Have you rebuilt your Apache configuration to see if that fixes the problem? 
   If you go into Apache config and then save with no changes.
 * I’ve never seen this behavior with cPanel. It shouldn’t delete other user’s database
   information (their posts).

 * Try to repair the Database of any one of the affected sites. If that worked, 
   then repair all the databases on the server:
 * mysqlcheck –all-databases -a

 * Thanks for your responses guys. After a lot more research we figured out that
   it was a caching problem. Specifically google page speed was operating on the
   wp-admin pages and causing strange results whenever drafts were saved. So I turned
   it off for /wp-admin/*
