    I have an urgent issue with shipping. I have put goods in the shipping class as heavy goods. at checkout instead of it being mandatory its an option so users are buying products with paying the hevy goods shipping price . Please help

    I understand how urgent this is, especially when customers are able to complete checkout without paying the correct heavy goods shipping rate, and I am keen to help you get this locked down properly.

    The first thing to double check is that the Heavy Goods shipping class is actually applied to the relevant products. You can confirm this by editing one of the affected products and checking the Shipping section in the Product data panel, then ensuring the Heavy Goods class is selected and saved.

    It is also important to note that shipping classes on their own are not enforced as mandatory options at checkout. They work together with shipping zones and shipping methods. If the heavy goods rate is appearing as optional, this usually means there is more than one shipping method available in the same shipping zone, allowing customers to choose a cheaper option.

    Please review the shipping zone that applies to the customer’s address and make sure the shipping methods within that zone are configured to account for the Heavy Goods shipping class. This often involves assigning a specific cost for the Heavy Goods class within the shipping method, and adjusting or limiting other methods so they do not allow heavy items to ship at a lower rate.
