# Shortcode for “First Name”?

 * Since we are collecting “First Name” in the subscription field, is it possible
   to use a shortcode in the email body of the automated emails that will show the
   person’s first name?

 * AH, I tried [firstname](https://codex.wordpress.org/firstname) the first time
   and missed the underscore. [first_name](https://codex.wordpress.org/first_name)
   is working perfectly.
