# Static Page theme: Does the shortcode need a functions.php addition?

 * [My site](http://machinemachine.net) uses [a plugin](https://thepixeltribe.com/template/draft-portfolio/)
   to initiate custom posts on a static front page. I tried using the shortcode 
   for Ajax Load More on my front page, but it doesn’t load anything. I assume maybe
   the plugin is not loaded because of the other plugin functionality. Is there 
   code I can add to the functions.php file to initiate shortcode? Or can I load
   AJAX without it?

    I see the ajax
   load more css and js loaded on your page. What’s missing is the html elements.
