# Shortcode not working – markdown bug?

 * If I use `[tweet id="846270908138426369"]` nothing shows up in my blog post.
 * I have the latest Twitter plugin installed, it successfully puts a “Tweet this”
   button at the end of my posts.
 * If I paste the plain URL, the tweet is embedded – but I want to be able to control
   whether the conversation is displayed.
 * I’m using the JetPack markdown editor. Could that be causing issues?

 * I am not able to recreate the issue using Jetpack 4.7.1 with Markdown editing
   enabled.
 * Make sure you are using the text editor. The [Jetpack documentation](https://jetpack.com/support/markdown/)
   mentions possible issues with Markdown in the visual editor.
 * > When writing with Markdown, make sure you always use the Text editor and not
   > the Visual editor. Using the Visual editor may cause unexpected results with
   > Markdown.
