# Shortcode question

 * When you add the shortcode to a post, how does it know which page to display 
   on? I used the customizer to select which category to use, but I don’t understand
   how to get my posts to populate on the desired page.
 * I have multiple posts that all have the same category “Newsletter” and I want
   to display them to show up on my “newsletter” page.

 * I can see no wrong approach. Write [catposts] to your normal WordPress site content,
   like the screenshot tree: [https://wordpress.org/plugins/category-posts/screenshots/](https://wordpress.org/plugins/category-posts/screenshots/)
   
   Then go to the ‘View Page’ and your page should show some post headlines by our
   widget. To configurate the widget you can do this in the customizer for that 
   page you added the shortcode [catposts]. The steps are similar like this tutorial:
