# Shortcode update doesn’t work

 * Hi there,
 * I want to rearrange the galleries so that they are in order. No matter what am
   I doing, generate shortcode or update an existing one the gallery shortcode stay
   the same. (global settings – generate shortcode). But I could live with if I 
   can say anywhere what is the shortcode for which gallery? Any advice,

   The quickest way to
   find out the shortcode ID for each gallery is browser dev tools’ inspect tool.
   [Here’s how to use it](https://developer.chrome.com/docs/devtools/inspect-mode)
 * Just select the gallery you want to find this out for on front-end and browse
