# shortcode won’t work

 * Hello,
    The plugin is really great, and it works on pages and comments, but the
   shortcode [today_hebdate] is not working on my child theme (I am adding it in
   a top menu as a custom link with # and instead of showing the date it showes 
   the code. It is working on the parent theme though….what can be the problem?

 * Shortcodes working in posts and pages only. This is the default of wordpress.
   
   Maybe [this plugin](https://wordpress.org/plugins/shortcode-in-menus) help you(
   I not tried its).

    Thanks for your quick replay. The funny thing is, that it did worked
   on my test website as a custom link…any ideas? I would really like to avoid installing
   extra plugins on the website. Thanks again

 * You can add the function `today_hebDate();` to your theme where you want the 
   date.
