 * Hi [@albertsalden](https://wordpress.org/support/users/albertsalden/),
 * I removed the shortcodes from the lists in the admin area. They still work if
   you use them but use is now discouraged.
 * With WordPress 5.0, you can now use the block editor to add a menu, menu section,
   or menu item to any page. You can see a short video showing how to do that here:
 * [http://doc.themeofthecrop.com/plugins/food-and-drink-menu/user/getting-started/display-menu](http://doc.themeofthecrop.com/plugins/food-and-drink-menu/user/getting-started/display-menu)
 * If you are not using the new block-based editor, you can still use shortcodes
   and they are all described here:

 * Nate,
 * For some strange reason WP 5.0 was installed without working with the Gutenberg
   editor (not your problem of course). Even manual installing Gutenberg don’t work.
   Also the menu’s are not in the choises tot add to the mainmenu of the site.
 * So I’m stucked with the shortcodes. The problem is that I don’t see the ID of
   the menu’s I made last days. I really need them to fix the shortcode.

 * Natan,
 * I found out what was wrong with my Gutenberg. Page Builder caused the problem.
   I deactivated it and Gutenberg works perfect. It also coverted the pages build
   by Page Builder so I don’t need this plugin anymore.
 * Now I can work again with the new options of your plugin. Works great.
 * Thanks for the good work and the fast reaction on my message.

 * Glad you got everything working for you, [@albertsalden](https://wordpress.org/support/users/albertsalden/).
 * If anyone else runs across this and needs to use the shortcodes, here’s how you
   can find out the ID of any menu.
 * 1. Go to Menus in your WordPress admin area.
    2. Click on the Menu to edit it.
   3. From the editing screen, look at the URL in your browser. It will look something
   like this:
 *     ```
       http://yourdomain.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=535&action=edit&lang=en
       ```
 * In this example, `535` is the ID. So your shortcode would be `[fdm-menu id=535]`.
 * You can do this for menu items as well, by going to Menus > Menu Items and clicking
   on the menu item to edit it.
 * Hi Nate,
 * Any chance you will put back the shortcode view in the admin area? Our customer,
   running a huge multisite is not ready for WordPress 5 yet.
 * How about making this view available as an option in the settings.
    Just a checkbox
   in the settings menu: “Disable/View shortcodes”.
 * This would help a lot.
    Kind regards, Leif
 * Hi [@leifranden](https://wordpress.org/support/users/leifranden/),
 * Here is a small addon that restores the shortcodes to the lists of menus and
   menu items:
 * [https://gist.github.com/NateWr/be978ed15a23863340a1fb694c422a51](https://gist.github.com/NateWr/be978ed15a23863340a1fb694c422a51)
 * To use it, click the Download button at the top, unpack the .zip file, and upload
   the .php file to your `/wp-content/plugins/` directory. You can then activate
   it from the Plugins screen in your WordPress admin area.
