Hi, SiteGround Optimizer is showing a “WordPress REST API is blocked” error and won’t let me enable caching.

I’ve tested /wp-json/wp/v2/posts directly — it works fine externally.

I’ve also added the sgo_rest_api_check_override filter in both functions.php and as a must-use plugin, but the plugin still thinks the REST API is blocked.

Can you please check if ModSecurity or another WAF rule is blocking loopback requests or internal REST API checks made by the plugin?

If so, could you whitelist or disable that specific rule?

    Hello @enviousdigital,

Please open a Helpdesk request through your Client Area so we can inspect the error and check the server logs to see if there is something related that could be causing this.

The error might be related to a conflict with another plugin or .htaccess rules restricting the work of the REST API as well.

    Best regards,
